I really enjoyed reading “How to Become a Writer” by Lorrie Moore. It was very humorous and kept me wanting to read more and more as I went throughout the essay. She was able to show me what she was talking about and still make me laugh at the same time because although she was serious she was funny also. When it comes down to if I believe that the term “insane writer” is a cliché or not I would have to say I agree and disagree. I agree because I think that in order to be a good writer you have to be a little insane. I disagree because sometimes writers are a little too insane and they either get off topic or go into their own world or they just go crazy with their writing and loose the reader all together. I’m not trying to say that they are psycho and need to go to a health clinic but I think that some writers express there images and there beliefs a little different from others and that is what makes them crazy. Now about stereotypes, people have had many stereotypes about me being that I am six foot eight inches. They are always like, you must play basketball or do you play football when actually I play baseball. I find it really funny but in the end it really teaches me that people are not always what they look like and not to judge. Honestly if I saw my own self I would think I played basketball so when people ask I just laugh and say no I play baseball.
When it comes to plot, I think it is very important in a story because it keeps the story or paper or essay in order and gives it structure. Without it the reader and in some cases the writer are lost. Last but not least I think that five paragraph essays are very problematic because they piss me off. I always worry about the damn paragraph and forget what I’m writing about or just loose all train of thought. I’m used to arguing to my teachers about it in high school I got so sick of them. THEY
